I just moved to Chicago a couple of months ago from MI. Does anyone know if there's an SCA group around here who do ME dance/music? I wasn't able to find much on the SCA website.

I don't know of any official SCA ME Dance groups right now. I headed one up years ago but it sorta fizzled. Jale bint Amar, who is mundanely known as Wendy Pastrick and who is my troupemate in Blue Lotus Tribe and I might be interested in getting it going again though. She's in in Foxvale, and I'm in Elgin, IL, playing with Ravenslake and the Incipient Shire of Elv av Tiden, who have a few interested dancers.
It would be nice to get a Chicago area ME dance collective going again!! -

Thanks for the reply! Please let me know if either of those two SCA groups do anything ME dance-related, and I'll be there! I'm not an official SCA member, but I really miss the tight-knit SCA ME community that I met back in Michigan. -

We also teach tribal technique, improv and fusion, depending on whose classes you go to. My classes are pretty far west in the 'burbs, but Laura, Andrea, and Audrey all teach in the city. www.bluelotustribe.com
I know it seems like a long way off, but if you'd like to come to Tree-Girt-Sea's 12th night Wendy and I are usually there and would love to meet you!! I'm sure you know your way around the Midrealm calendar website!! ;-) -
